And The President of United States Is...

After months of campaigning, Barack Obama has won the 2012 Presidential elections. The race was tight but in the end, Obama secured his position as the 44th President of the United States.

Being only 15 years old, I know that I can't vote... yet, but I know that the "winner" was in God's hands. I have prayed throughout the campaigning and election that whomever wins, will be useful and positively influential to the U.S. I've prayed that this President will govern righteously and make Biblically aligned decisions. We think we know who would be a better President but God puts whom He chooses in power.

...he sets up kings and deposes them.
Daniel 2:21b

I've carefully considered both candidates and thought, "If you could, who would you vote for?" My "decision" (is private) was based upon my spiritual and moral convictions and when I do vote in 2016, that will be the method I use to select a President.

Though he will probably never read this post, I pray that the President may remember and heed this warning,

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Luke 12:48b

and always remember,

For nothing is impossible with God
Luke 1:37

And readers, never cease to pray for our authorities, like the Bible commands.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
1 Timothy 2:1-2

P.S. I'm super excited to vote at the next election. Watch out America, there's going to be a new voter in town!!!

  1. I agree with you. We might of thought it would have been better if someone else was President, but obviously God has other plans.
Oh my!! I won't be able to vote next Presidential election, but I will be able the time after that!! That's a long ways away though...

  2. Love the verses you chose. Definitely encouraging as I'm a bit discouraged right now. God is in control.

    Blessings!

  3. Good verses. We must NEVER compromise the standards of the Bible for anything, including an election. I was so bummed that I am just a few months shy of being able to vote this year, but next election I'm sure I will. :) And all to the glory of God, out of submission to him and not out of fear. He is good and sovereign, and I will pray for our president!

"And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." PhilIppians 4:8
